In 1928, our founder, Albertus Viljoen ‘Oupa Alvi’ van der Merwe, acquired a fertile piece of farmland on the banks of the Breede River. His work ethic, love for people, and deep respect for the land, shaped our winery’s legacy.
Nearly a century later, Oupa Alvi’s unyielding pursuit of excellence continues to guide us. His passion and legacy lives on in our Albertus Viljoen range, and we honour his vision with every bottle we craft.
A brighter future begins with a strong foundation. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Indaba Institute to empower teachers and create opportunities for the next generation.
Inspired by Oupa Alvi’s legacy, our partnership with the Indaba Institute supports Early Childhood Development on our farm and beyond.
Every bottle of Albertus Viljoen wine sold helps to fund this work – training teachers, nurturing young minds, and creating lasting change.
