Wines for an Indian Summer

Alvi’s Drift Signature Sauvignon Blanc & Cabernet Sauvignon

While the fine weather we are currently experiencing is not going to end the drought in the Western Cape, it does offer some of the most pleasant weather you could hope for.   Warm, sunny days and cool mild evenings.  Perfect for picnics and braais!

There is no better way to enjoy long weekends than with friends and family at a picnic or braai  in the great outdoors.   Alvi’s Drift Sauvignon Blanc is ideal for picnics, light, refreshing and full of grassy fruit characters.  The Alvi’s Drift Cabernet Sauvignon is typically more robust and well suited for braai meat, whether it be lamb, chicken, pork or beef.

April has more than its fair share of public holidays, with Easter, Freedom Day and Workers Day lengthening our weekends.   Make the most of the time off and arrange that catch up you have been talking about, but never quite,  seem to confirm.  Then make sure you have the perfect wine for the occasion.

Try the recipes below for that special meal!

April gives us time to reflect on what is important in life.  Freedom Day represents perhaps the most important event in our country’s history.  Worker’s day celebrates  our country’s workers,   the people who make everything happen.   Take the time to consider your life, be thankful for what you have and for the opportunities  presented to you, and, while you reflect, have a glass of Alvi’s Drift wine and enjoy the long weekend!
