Alvi’s Drift 221 Competition Terms & Conditions
1. Promoter
This promotional competition is run by Alvi’s Drift Private Cellar, hereafter referred to as “the Promoter.”
2. Competition Period
The competition opens on Thursday, 18 June 2026 and closes at 23:59 on Sunday, 23 August 2026.
Qualifying purchases made after the closing date will not be considered for entry into the competition.
3. Eligibility
This competition is open to South African citizens and permanent resident holders who:
- are 18 years or older at the time of entry;
- reside in South Africa;
- are in possession of a valid South African ID document or valid proof of permanent residence;
- provide a valid South African residential address when placing their order;
- are legally permitted to purchase and receive alcohol;
- and are available to attend the Springboks vs All Blacks match at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on 5 September 2026.
Employees, directors, members, partners, agents, consultants, suppliers, advertising agencies, service providers, and immediate family members of the Promoter or any company associated with this competition may not enter.
4. How To Enter
To enter, participants must purchase any wine from the official Alvi’s Drift website during the competition period.
Each completed and paid online order placed between 18 June 2026 and 23 August 2026 will automatically qualify as one entry into the draw, provided that the entrant meets the eligibility requirements set out in these terms and conditions.
No additional entry fee is charged to enter the competition, other than the normal cost of purchasing wine from the Alvi’s Drift website.
The residential address provided at checkout will be used to determine the winner’s departure location for travel arrangements, where applicable.
Only complete, valid, and paid online orders will be accepted as entries. Cancelled, refunded, unpaid, fraudulent, duplicated, or reversed orders will not qualify.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is incomplete, incorrect, fraudulent, automated, duplicated, submitted in breach of these terms, or linked to an order that is cancelled, refunded, or not successfully completed.
5. Prize
One winner will receive a prize valued at up to R50 000, consisting of:
- two match tickets to the Springboks vs All Blacks match at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg, on 5 September 2026, in a seating category selected by the Promoter;
- two return park-and-ride tickets for the match day;
- return domestic flights within South Africa for the winner and their guest, where applicable;
- one night’s accommodation for two people sharing in Sandton, Johannesburg, at or near the designated park-and-ride departure location, as selected by the Promoter;
- an Alvi’s Drift 221 wine prize consisting of 24 cases of 6 bottles, equal to 144 bottles;
- three cases of 6 bottles of Alvi’s Drift Brut Nature Vintage Cap Classique, equal to 18 bottles;
- and delivery of the wine prize within South Africa.
The final prize value may vary depending on the winner’s location, travel requirements, accommodation availability, and logistical arrangements, but will not exceed R50 000.
6. Travel & Accommodation Conditions
The winner’s residential address, as provided at checkout at the time of their qualifying purchase, will be used as the departure point for any applicable domestic travel arrangements.
Domestic flights within South Africa are included where required. Flights will be arranged from the nearest suitable airport to the winner’s confirmed residential address, as determined by the Promoter.
The prize includes one night’s accommodation for the winner and their guest in Sandton, Johannesburg. The accommodation portion of the prize is only available to winners who reside outside of Gauteng.
Accommodation will be for two people sharing one room at a hotel or guest establishment selected by the Promoter, subject to availability.
If the winner resides in Gauteng, flights and accommodation may not be included, and no cash, credit, or other alternative will be provided in place of those portions of the prize.
Accommodation excludes meals, beverages, room service, minibar charges, laundry, parking, additional nights, upgrades, incidental expenses, and any other costs not expressly stated as included.
The prize does not include spending money, travel insurance, upgrades, additional transport, additional baggage, personal expenses, or any costs not expressly stated in these terms.
Travel arrangements will be made at the Promoter’s discretion and are subject to availability, airline schedules, booking deadlines, and operational requirements.
The winner and their guest must be available to travel on the dates required for the match. If the winner is unable to attend, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
7. Guest Conditions
The winner’s guest must also be 18 years or older and must be a South African citizen or permanent resident holder.
The guest may be required to provide valid identification before travel arrangements are confirmed.
The winner and guest must travel together where travel is included, unless otherwise approved by the Promoter in writing.
8. Non-Transferable & No Cash Alternative
The prize is not exchangeable for cash, credit, vouchers, another product, or any other alternative.
The prize is non-transferable and may not be sold, exchanged, auctioned, or ceded to another person without the written approval of the Promoter.
9. Winner Selection & Announcement
The winner will be selected by random draw from all complete, valid, and eligible entries received during the competition period.
The winner will be announced on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, to allow sufficient time for travel, accommodation, and match-day arrangements to be confirmed.
The draw will be overseen and/or certified by an independent accountant, registered auditor, attorney, advocate, or other suitably independent person appointed by the Promoter, where required by applicable law.
The Promoter’s decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome of the competition, except where required by law.
The winner will be contacted using the contact details provided when placing their qualifying order. The Promoter will make reasonable attempts to contact the winner.
The winner will have 48 hours from the time of being contacted to respond and provide any required verification documents.
If the winner cannot be reached, does not respond within 48 hours, fails to provide the required verification documents, is found to be ineligible, or cannot accept the prize for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
The Promoter will retain the competition rules, winner selection records, and related competition documentation for the period required by applicable law.
10. Verification
The winner and guest may be required to provide:
- valid proof of identity;
- proof of age;
- proof of South African citizenship or permanent residency;
- proof of residential address;
- and any additional information reasonably required to arrange the prize.
Failure to provide the required documents within the requested timeframe may result in disqualification.
The Promoter may disqualify a winner if the information provided at entry is false, incomplete, misleading, unverifiable, or materially different from the information provided during verification.
11. Wine Delivery
Wine delivery is only available within South Africa.
The winner must provide a valid delivery address where a person over the age of 18 is available to receive the wine.
The Promoter and its delivery partners may require proof of identity and age upon delivery.
Delivery timelines may vary depending on the winner’s location, stock availability, and courier schedules.
12. Marketing Consent & Personal Information
By making a qualifying purchase during the competition period, entrants agree that the Promoter may process their personal information for the purpose of administering the competition, verifying eligibility, contacting the winner, arranging prize fulfilment, delivering the wine prize, complying with legal obligations, and keeping records relating to the competition.
Where an entrant joins the Alvi’s Drift Wine Club, the entrant may be required to provide marketing consent in order to receive Wine Club news, offers, promotions, benefits, and related communication by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
Entrants who provide marketing consent may unsubscribe or opt out of marketing communication at any time by following the unsubscribe link or opt-out instructions provided in the relevant communication.
Withdrawing marketing consent may affect the entrant’s ability to continue receiving Wine Club communication, offers, benefits, and related updates, but will not affect any valid competition entry already received during the competition period.
Personal information will be processed in accordance with applicable South African privacy laws, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, and in line with Alvi’s Drift’s privacy policy, available at https://alvisdrift.co.za/pages/policies.
13. Publicity
The winner may be asked to take part in reasonable publicity relating to the competition, including photographs, video, social media posts, or winner announcements.
Participation in publicity is voluntary, and the winner may decline this request.
14. Social Media Disclaimer
This competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Meta, or any other social media platform.
By entering, participants acknowledge that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to any social media platform.
15. Rugby & Event Disclaimer
This competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with SA Rugby, the Springboks, the All Blacks, FNB Stadium, or any official event organiser, unless expressly stated by the Promoter.
Match tickets are subject to the terms and conditions of the official ticket issuer, event organiser, and venue.
The Promoter does not control the event, venue, match operations, ticketing terms, park-and-ride service, security requirements, or stadium entry conditions. The winner and guest must comply with all applicable ticket issuer, event organiser, venue, and transport provider terms and conditions.
The Promoter is not responsible for changes to the match date, venue, time, event access rules, seating allocation, cancellation, postponement, weather conditions, transport disruption, or any other circumstances outside its reasonable control.
16. Responsible Alcohol Use
Alvi’s Drift supports responsible drinking.
This competition is strictly open to persons aged 18 years or older. Alcohol prizes will not be awarded or delivered to anyone under the age of 18.
17. General
The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, cancel, or terminate the competition or any part of the prize if required to do so by law or due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
The Promoter’s decision regarding all competition matters, including winner selection, eligibility, verification, and prize fulfilment, is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into, except where required by law.
By entering this competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
18. Acceptance Of Terms
By making a qualifying purchase during the competition period, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these terms and conditions.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant who does not comply with these terms and conditions or who acts in a way that is fraudulent, dishonest, disruptive, or harmful to the Promoter, the competition, or any other participant.
