A passionate, self-confessed lifelong student of wine, Cape Wine Academy lecturer and Alvi’s Drift International Brand Ambassador Junel Van Der Merwe graduated as a Cape Wine Master in 2004.

Says Junel: “I have the privilege of working alongside head winemaker Alvi Van Der Merwe and the team as Alvi’s Drift winery’s International Brand Ambassador. Representing South African wines globally truly opened my eyes to how the world perceives our country. It also sustains my passion for telling the authentic and unique story of South African wine."
